My friend and I visited Scotland for the first time in April, and we did four Heart of Scotland tours: Rosslyn & the Roman Border (4/6/10) with Dave, Monarchs, Mountains, & Malt (4/7) with Simon, Wizards & Warriors (4/8) with Jamie, and Loch Ness & Legends (4/9) with Andy. Dave was the most amazing tour guide you could ever ask for. He played great music, told funny stories, sang for us, and even helped me try to climb the tree at Sycamore Gap! Couldn't ask for more. I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the Loch Ness and Legends Tour (Saturday, 25 October, 2008). By the time we hit our first rest stop, I realized how much I appreciated being in a small coach. We didn't have to wait in huge lines for food with tons of other people eating at the same place, for one thing!

The smaller coaches made it feel much more personal, and helped me feel less like one of the mass, a faceless tourist. I loved how much I was able to learn about Scottish history and folklore from our guide, who was incredibly knowledgeable and wanted to share that knowledge with us.

Another thing I absolutely loved was the music that was played. So much thought went into it, to select specific songs based on what we were seeing or the part of the country we were in. I appreciated being able to hear traditional and contemporary music beyond the bagpipes we traditionally associate with Scottish music (though I do love hearing bagpipes!). It was so beautiful to hear that music while looking at the misty terrain and lochs. The tour is definitely worth the price. Thanks for a great time in the highlands and all of the little details that make your tour wonderful.

We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our tour on Saturday. Rose, our driver/guide, was simply excellent. I was so happy that she had the baby seat already installed in the bus when she arrived. Our daughter was a perfect angel.
It really did work out well for us and the other 27 people on the bus, baby-wise. We also enjoyed the Loch Ness boat tour. Turns out the guide who spoke to people in the below deck was doing research work with MIT. My husband and I are both technical geeks. This man had real information. We were expecting a tacky boat cruise to be honest, and came away with a scientific research angle. Very interesting and informative.

Hello There!
After having spent last week in Scotland, I have to say that the most enjoyment I had was on the tours with Colin (Rosslyn and the Roman Border on Tuesday July 22, and Loch Ness and Legends on Wednesday July 23). He was incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely friendly and generally awesome!!! He felt like an old friend within the first hour of meeting him and treated us with the most amazing warmth. You could feel his passion and excitement for Scotland, and it was so infectious!

The country is beautiful and the tours are incredible. The timetable was excellent, and all of the stops showed new and amazing facets of Scotland's majestic beauty. I have never been so satisfied with a tour or a tour guide.

I plan on returning to Scotland in the near future to relive the great experience and share it with new people. One thing is for sure though, I will be calling ahead to find out which tours Colin is guiding. I couldn't imagine seeing the country with any other guide!

My family and I booked the Loch Ness & Legends tour on 01/07/2008. Our driver cum tour guide was Bill. I must give my compliments to him for a wonderful day of travel on the Scottish highlands, full of fun, soaked with history & scottish culture, accompanied with scottish folk music played over the stereo.

Bill made our day truly memorable, through his deep involvement into every aspect of the tour, while taking care of the pasengers. His story telling ability, (amazing! history comes alive), his love for ecology with vivid description of landscape surrounding us ( beautiful lochs & hills, cascading waterfalls) together with sunshine & highland drizzles, helped us to enjoy scotland's natural beauty at it's best.

My daughter and i took a tour yesterday (May 13) to Loch Ness and the Highlands with George Shanks. He could not have been a better host for our tour. He was amazingly well informed, funny and fun! Our private tour of Scotland was absolutely terrific.  Andy Middleton was the perfect guide for our family and did a wonderful job keeping my husband and I and our three boys interested and entertained.  She became one of the family.  Your assistance with the accomodations was great and we enjoyed each of the places we stayed.  The Drover's Inn was definitely an experience!  We particularly enjoyed meeting and staying with the Drake family at No. 192 in Poblain.  The van worked wonderfully and there were simply no problems on the entire trip.  Will send pictures soon.  Let me know if you would like any more details about any of the places we stayed or visited.

The four tours we had last week were just great. Shauna, Andy, and Bill were enthusiastic and informative, and all seemed very patriotic to the great country of Scotland.

On Sunday the 25th of May (bank holiday weekend) we went on the Loch Ness and Legends tour while holidaying in Edinburgh, We wanted you to know that Careen (our guide) was awesome.
